About Plainfield Elementary School

Welcome to Plainfield Elementary School!
Our staff has adopted the belief "Every Child, Everyday, Together". Our core values include:
- Student centered (base all decisions on what we feel is in the best interests of our students)
- Research-based, data driven (use proven research-based practices to gather data to guide our curriculum and instructional decisions)
- Continuously improving (always working harder and smarter to increase student achievement)
- Creative collaboration (identify a problem quickly and then work together to seek solutions)
We are a kindergarten through third grade school of approximately 420 students. There are five classroom teachers at each grade level (6 this year in kindergarten!). Three reading specialists, one math support teachers, and four learning support teachers serve as our intervention specialists. Speech, guidance, and a school psychologist also provide services to our students along with an ESL teacher, certified school nurse, and an occupational therapist from IU-20. Instructional aides work with the students under the direction of our classroom teachers. Our students also enjoy special area classes in music, art, gym, and library.
We try to make every effort to keep our parents fully informed. We encourage volunteers in our classrooms and we have an outstanding PTO Board who direct our over 400 members. Support them and your children by joining our PTO and getting involved in your child's education.
Our school represents the values of our community. We are excited to work with you to achieve social growth and academic success for your children each year. We are truly partners in your child's education.
Thank you for getting involved and staying involved!
